GDC08: New version of Director software will allegedly feature Ageia PhysX engine, too

Adobe looking to tempt devs with new 3D tech say reports

Seemingly leaked reports coming out of the Game Developer Conference today claim that Adobe is looking to tempt more game developers to using its Director software with 3D and physics improvements.

A report on CNET which has now been taken down says that the firm is set to announce the new software on Tuesday, February 19th.

Allegedly, Director 11 will feature new 3D authoring tools using Shockwave, support DirectX 9, and will incorporate Ageia’s PhysX engine – and the technology will allow for fast prototyping or full game creation.

Althought Director is usually used for UI creation the software was originally designed for 3D animation.
