Casual game developer plans aggressive release schedule

BeanBag Studios established

A new casual game studio, BeanBag Games, has been established with offices in Texas and Ontario.

The studio has been founded by two game development veterans, Steve Bergenholtz and Gary Corriveau, with Bergenholtz previously having established Sandbox Studios which he sold to EA in 2001.

Beanbag has already acquired several ‘global videogame licenses’ and is poised to release four titles this year, with over 20 licensed and original titles planned for 2008 and expansion into the console and mobile phone sectors also anticipated.

"We’re looking forward to releasing a range of first-rate titles for the growing number of casual game fans around the world,” said Bergenholtz.

"Our developers are working with several high profile properties, which will allow us to hit the ground running with a series of impressive launch games.”
