Sony to take PS3 on tour

SONY IS sending its next-generation console on a UK tour to show off its worth as an interactive entertainment hub.

The ‘PlayStation 3 UK Tour’ will focus on the non-gaming capabilities of the machine.

The main aim of the PS3 UK Tour is to showcase those capabilities which stretch beyond the realms of gaming to include HD pictures, music, photography, PlayStation Network and PSP compatibility,” said SCE UK trade marketing manager Rosemary Buahin.

PlayStation 3 is a super-computer that fits naturally in the living room environment. With this in mind, we have created demonstration units which will allow consumers to freely experience the PS3 throughout the tour.”

The tour kicks off on October 1st, and runs through until the end of December, taking in major venues including the massive O2 Arena in London, as well as major UK shopping centres, train stations and universities.
