Euro expansion key via Warner Bros' "production and marketing expertise"

Warner underlines value of development in games push

Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment continues to tout its plans for European expansion – now reiterating its plans to the industry that it will succeed in its growth objectives thanks to internally developed games and third party titles, exactly as revealed by Develop over a month ago.

WBIE plans to push forward by utilising sister division Warner Home Video’s "superior distribution capabilities".

But retail channels need product, which Warner plans to put together using its "production and marketing expertise". Games will come from internally-developed games managed by its in-house WB Games team and third party titles.

The firm is currently in the process of building a London-based team to drive its European activity.

“We are intensifying our expansion in videogame publishing with a strong commitment to growth in the European market,” said Kevin Tsujihara, president, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Group.

“With a range of products for every platform, we will reach multiple gaming audiences with our own internally produced games as well as several partner companies’ games.”
