Classic iPod for games unveiled

Just a year after it first put iPod games made by third parties up for sale on iTunes, Apple has unveiled the latest in its line of MP3 players with the new ‘classic’ model featuring a screen designed to suit games.

The new iPod classic was unveiled today alongside the iPod touch, a phone-less version on the iPhone. The ‘classic’ is described by Apple as being "perfect for playing iPod games" and is pre-loaded with iQuiz, Apple’s trivia game, 3D puzzler Vortex and card game Klondike.

Electronic Arts is also developing more games for the iPod, with Sudoku and Tetris heading to iTunes soon along with Ms. Pac-Man from Namco.
