New product development team headed for London

Warner Interactive to build development team in Europe

Tom Ivan at Next-Gen.biz has the scoop on Warner Interactive’s expansion plans, with a rep from the company explaining that the film-studio-owned games company plans to build a new team in London that will include sales, marketing and, eventually, development staff.

In the short-term the company wants to build its publishing business; WBIE plans to hire a European VP in addition to a marketing director and a director of regional sales – the new VP will oversee a regional headcount of approximately 50 staff. And in the long-term it wants to build a product development team.

Natalie Francis, Time Warner director of international executive search explained: “Initially there will be a European marketing and sales teams dealing with distribution while the development side of things will take slightly longer to establish as that progress is dependent on working with partners and nurturing new partnerships, both of which are ongoing.

“The team will be based in the existing corporate office in London. There will also be representatives of the new division within the existing European operations so we will have sales and marketing staff operating in France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Benelux.”
