New games development technology company Instinct has signed up to be exclusive EMEA distributor of Engenuity's AI.implant middleware.

Instinct smartens up with AI.implant deal

Engenuity’s tool is an AI run-time solution for platforms including PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, offering intelligent pathfinding in dynamic physical environments. It’s also designed to help create realistic, real-time character and crowd behaviours and is currently being used by the likes of Midway.

Irish Instinct, meanwhile, is still hard at work on the official launch of its own Instinct Studio game engine – a suite of software tools that will be unveiled fully at GDC 07.

“Becoming an exclusive reseller for a premium technology company like Engenuity is a tremendous step forward for Instinct Technology and allows us to dramatically improve the range of products and services we offer," commented Instinct Technology’s business development director, Mike Gamble.

Added Aaron Davey, ops director, Games and Entertainment for Engenuity Technologies: “Instinct Technology is especially well suited to bring AI.implant to this territory because of the team’s deep knowledge of the AI.implant product, as well as their role as a strategic player in the games middleware market. We are very pleased to include Instinct among our network of worldwide distributors.”
