US students can take advantage of these AIAS scholarships to get into games

AIAS looking for applications for three different educational scholarships

The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences Foundation has announced it’s looking for applications for three scholarship programs aimed at students considering a career in game development.

The yearly scholarship programs each award $2,500 to currently enrolled students who are aiming to get a career in the video game industry.

The programs are the WomenIn, Randy Pausch, and Mark Beaumont scholarship funds and each has different goals.

The WomenIn scholarship is the most recent addition to the AIAS’ scholarship programs and has a focus on supporting women that are interested in game development. The Randy Pausch scholarship aims to encourage all students leaning towards game development, and the Mark Beaumont Scholarship wants to help people looking to work on the business side of games development.

Applicants can’t find more details on how to apply using the AIAS Foundation website, but will need to be in the second year of college or enrolled in a graduate program during the 2017-2018 school year and have a 3.3 GPA.

The deadline for applications is April 28, 2017.
