Announcement follows recent exits of former Diablo III director Jay Wilson and designer Leonard Boyarsky

Blizzard seeking new Diablo director after Josh Mosqueira departs

Blizzard is looking for someone to head up its Diablo franchise following the news that game director Josh Mosqueira has left the studio.

Mosqueira joined Blizzard in 2011 and took over responsibility for the gothic RPG series two years later, replacing Jay Wilson.

Wilson himself exited Blizzard in June after 10 years at the company. His departure itself followed that of Diablo III lead world designer Leonard Boyarsky in April as he moved to Obsidian.

"With Diablo III in a good place at this point, Josh felt that now was a good time to pursue other opportunities with minimal impact to the team," Blizzard told Polygon.

"We’ll be filling the director role either from within Blizzard or externally."

The job listing for the vacancy outlines someone to “lead the Diablo series into the future” – though what form this will take remains to be seen.
