Devs will spend two months building new IP in Swedish log cabins

13 teams confirmed for Stugan 2016

Swedish games accelerator Stugan has confirmed the team and mentor line-up for this year’s program.

Stugan is a unique accelerator that sees participants living and developing together in a remote location in Sweden. They will have guidance from the organisers as well as industry veterans that have pledged their support as mentors.

New mentors this year include Vlambeer’s Rami Ismail, Rovio’s Peter Vesterbacka, Paradox’s Shams Jorjani, and Stugan 2015 participant Clint Siu. Several of last year’s mentor’s also return, including representatives of DICE, King, Resolution Games and more.

This year, there are 13 teams signed up, making for a total of 21 participants from as far flung nations as Brazil, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, as well as throughout the UK and Europe. They will be developing a range of titles for mobile and PC.

“This year is going to be exceptional as the diversity, passion and energy from participants is seemingly unmatched,” said Stugan manager Jana Karlikova. “We have everyone from established programmers, an ex-games journalist turned indie developer, to toy maker/artist teaching themselves programming to make their dream game a reality. They comprise developer teams that are longtime friends, couples and solo artists going at it alone.”

The teams will be heading to Stugan from July 8th to August 27th. You’ll be able to follow their progress via www.stugan.com.
