2K’s Battleborn scores UK No.1

Battleborn narrowly beat Call of Duty: Black Ops III to take the UK Top Spot this week.

It achieved the feat by just 100 units, although these charts do not factor in digital sales, and so the real gap was likely much wider. Battleborn was the fourth best-selling game on Steam worldwide for the past week.

Elsewhere, it was a really disappointing week for UK games sales. Sales slipped to just over 5m for the week. Of course, it’s a congested month for new releases, so it’s likely that some gamers are simply holding off. Uncharted and Doom arrive this week, while Homefront is due the week after. The month ends with the arrival of Total War: Warhammer and Overwatch.

One game that did perform well this week is Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, which re-entered the chart at No.22. The game was cut in price ahead of the arrival of Uncharted 4.
