Sold Out to publish physical version of Carmageddon: Max Damage

Carmageddon: Max Damage’s physical release will be handled by Sold Out, it has been announced.

The game will arrive at retail on June 3rd alongside its digital release. It will cost 29.99 on both PS4 and Xbox One.

Carmageddon has an infamous 19 year legacy, it’s a one-of-a-kind franchise, and we felt that a Stainless Games and Sold Out partnership would be no different,” Sold Out CEO Garry Williams said. We’re delighted to be riding shotgun with Stainless Games on Carmageddon: Max Damage, and look forward to the insanity ahead.”

Stainless Games’ publishing director Jason Garber added: Working with Sold Out to bring Carmageddon: Max Damage to retail is not only a significant new chapter in the history of the brand and studio, but vitally, enables us to unleash our motoring mayhem upon the console world, across both the physical and digital market simultaneously.”

The original Carmageddon was famously censored in the UK, with the crimson blood of flattened pedestrians replaced with green-blooded zombies and oil-spewing robots. An un-altered version of the game was subsequently approved on appeal.

Stainless rebooted the series in 2015 with Carmageddon: Reincarnation. The game received a pretty poor critical response.
