Runes of Magic firm chooses open source log management platform for its MMOs

Gameforge uses Graylog to reduce performance issues

Gameforge, the MMO firm behind Runes of Magic and Hex: Shards of Fate, has revealed it will be using Graylog as part of its online gaming platform going forward.

Graylog is an open source log management system that uses log data to help devs identify application and performance issues, as well as help development and operations teams collaborate better.

Gameforge will be using it to manage more than 20 games across more than 2,000 servers, including Aion Free-to-Play, Tera, Orcs Must Die! Unchained and the aforementioned titles.

“We needed a better log management solution to quickly and easily troubleshoot issues before our gamers noticed any problems in the games of systems,” said Gameforge’s lead windows system administrator Felix Oechsler.

“We also wanted an all-in-one solution that would be easy to use and manage across our different departments.”
