Total funding in Finnish start-up now stands at $28m

Best Fiends studio Seriously raises $18m

Best Fiends developer Seriously has raised $18m in a Series A funding round.

The investment round included Northzone, along with Korea Investment Partners, Upfront Ventures, Sunstone Capital and Daher Capital. Total funding in the Finnish start-up now stands at $28m.

The studio released its first game, Best Fiends, in October last year. Since then the game has been downloaded more than 15 million times. Daily active users said to have reached up to 1.35m.

A second title in a planned Best Fiends trilogy of games is expected to be released later this year.

“We think about the Best Fiends app as a platform for our intellectual property, and since launching less than ten months ago with a small but experienced team, we have focused on continually enhancing the experience with frequent updates featuring new characters, events and addictive gameplay,” said Seriously CEO Andrew Stalbow.

“We are thrilled to now work with the talented teams at Northzone and Korea Investment Partners as we add more consumer and Asia expertise to support the next phase of growth.”
