Argentina studio ZupCat gets new investor

Argentina-based studio ZupCat has received investment from Flaregames founder and CEO Klaas Kersting.

As well as founding Flaregames, Klaas Kersting has worked as CEO for Gameforge and previously invested in Supercell. The investment figure for ZupCat was not disclosed.

The mobile game developer was formed in September 2011 and works on free-to-play RPGs for mobile. Previous funding was provided by venture capitalist firm Kaszek Ventures.

The studio developed fantasy RPG Battle of Littledom, and is currently working on Hero Squad Arena and Freedom Knights.

“Klaas’ track record is well established and his eye for talent is unparalleled,” said ZupCat CEO Franco Breciano.

“His investment and guidance are both very valuable to our studio and we’re working hard to ensure we live up to the expectations that we all have for our company.”
