So 2,240 bottlecaps DOES buy a copy of Fallout 4

Bethesda has decided that a fan who handed over 2,240 bottlecaps in the hope it could be exchanged for a copy of Fallout 4 WILL receive a copy of the game.

It was reported last week that a fan called Seth had sent the gift of bottlecaps – Fallout’s in-game currency – to the publisher along with a letter pleading for a free PC version of the game.

And that wish has now been granted, it has been confirmed, both by Seth himself confirming the news on Imgur and by Bethesda’s community lead Matt Grandstaff on Twitter.

Before you get your hopes up, however, Bethesda marketing boss Pete Hines has warned others not to try the same tact, saying: To be clear, just this time. Don’t start sending stuff. Won’t work.”
