Chris Avellone departs Obsidian

Fallout: New Vegas designer Chris Avellone has left Obsidian after 12 years with the company he co-founded.

Avellone confirmed his departure earlier today on Twitter, though it’s not clear what his plans are moving forward.

Beyond the Fallout series, Avellone is also known for his work on Planescape: Torment and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II.

He also helped launch Kickstarter success Pillars of Eternity and had been contributing to Planescape’s spirtual successor Torment: Tides of Numenra (also successfully Kickstarted). No word as of yet on whether Avellone will continue work on the project following his departure.
