Canadian dev Switchblade Monkeys receives funds to help bring Secret Ponchos to more platforms

Execution Labs offers first finishing fund

Incubator and accelerator firm Execution Labs has awarded its first finishing fund to Vancouver-based studio Switchblade Monkeys.

The funds will help Switchblade improve the PS4 version of its Wild West shooter Secret Ponchos, as well as port the game to PC, tablets and other consoles.

An Execution Labs representative told Develop: "Secret Ponchos is a perfect first fund investment for XL. We’re happy to hold up this game as an example of the quality bar we expect Finishing Fund teams to reach. This is a small studio that really punches above its weight."

Back in November, Execution Labs secured £3.3m in funding to help the new and independent studios it works with.

Last month, it revealed the latest cohort studios for its accelerator programme.
