Survey designed to investigate the impact of working with different personality types on developer health and morale

Lancaster University calls for help with wellbeing research

A UK university is carrying out a new study into the wellbeing of games developers, and needs British studios to take part.

The project – entitled ‘Investigating Personality Traits in Game Development Teams: Implications for Managing Multiple Disciplines – is being led by Lancaster University Management School’s Dr Patrick Stacey and Miriam Sturdee.

It is based around a survey, which you can take part in here, that will give developers a breakdown of their own personality and how it contributes to a studio’s operations. The survey takes just ten minutes to fill in.

Responses are anonymous. Develop will report on the results after the project has received enough responses.

The study aims to learn more about working environments, quality of life and the influence different personality types has on each.

Develop recently spoke to leading developers about the dangers of crunch and how devs can protect themselves from its impact it has on their health.
