VIDEO: Star Citizen planetside gameplay shown off for the first time

A video showing some on-planet action in crowdfunded mega-hit Star Citizen has been released.

The game – whose total funding currently stands at over $58m – promises an ambitious reach far in excess of its many market rivals, and visiting bustling metropolises is one such example.

Unlike other titles in the genre Star Citizen will allow players to walk around the various planets and locations they visit and even engage in a little gunplay thanks to the in-development FPC component.

These elements, like the rest of the game, are being built using Crytek’s CryEngine
