Mojang confirms Minecraft: Pocket Edition for Windows Phone

Microsoft-owned Mojang has confirmed the mobile edition of its hit sandbox title Minecraft will see a release on Windows Phone.

Yes, Minecraft: Pocket Edition *is* coming to the Windows Phone! The port runs already, but there’s still much to do before any release,” Minecraft lead developer Jens Bergensten announced on Twitter.

A release window has yet to be provided by the studio – Minecraft: Pocket Edition racked up 21m sales between iOS, Android and Amazon Fire platforms as of April of this year.

In related news, Minecraft has received a PS Vita release date in North America – the edition was previously announced for an October 15th launch in the UK and Europe. The US Playstation Blog confirms Stateside Vita owners will have to wait until November 11th for both digital and retail versions.
