Segerstrale heads to Super Evil Megacorp as start-up raises $12m

Playfish founder Kristian Segerstrale has joined California-based developer Super Evil Megacorp as chief operating officer.

Segerstrale was already an early investor in the studio and will now focus on finding new talent for the studio.

As well as hiring the former EA exec, the developer has raised $11.6 million in its latest funding round, led by General Catalyst. Total investment in the company now stands at $15m.

Formed in 2012, Super Evil Megacorp is currently focusing on creating core games for tablets. Its first title Vainglory is currently available in early, limited release.
