Final Fantasy III PC release heading to Steam

Square Enix has announced plans to continue its trend of repackaging older Final Fantasy games for PC, revealing Square’s 1990 release Final Fantasy III is coming soon” to Steam.

Released exclusively in Japan nearly a quarter century ago, Final Fantasy III was re-released with a western launch as a 2007 Nintendo DS title. Both the original and DS remake sold over 1m copies worldwide.

FFIII is not to be confused with the Super Nintendo title Final Fantasy VI, which was labeled Final Fantasy III for its western release.

The PC version has been optimized with upgraded graphics,” new and improved 3D visuals and story sequences,” and new visual designs for the Job Mastery Cards.

The new platform release will also include Steam Trading Cards and Achievements, as well as quicker browsing through the game’s menus and monster bestiary.
