Yet more features added to next Xbox One update

Microsoft’s impressive efforts to continue upgrading the Xbox One have taken a step forward with yet more features confirmed for the next update.

Incoming functions include:

  • Added 50Hz output to Blu-ray content where supported
  • Firmware updates for both the controller and headsets to improve wireless connectivity and reduce audio static
  • Silent reboot option that allows console to automatically patch itself and return to standby when in Instant On mode

These are all in addition to the already confirmed improvements to the Friends system, the upped quality of game DVR recordings and Kinect motion and voice detection and save game management tweaks.

Support for external hard drives will be added in a subsequent update.
