Online game firm increasing publishing operations in MENA region

Bigpoint opens new Turkey office

Bigpoint has opened a new office in Turkey as it looks to increase its publishing operations of localised content in the MENA region.

The firm’s senior business development managed for the territory, Arslan Kiran, will head up the Istanbul-based office.

Previous fully-translated titles in the region from the online game developer and publisher include Merc Elite and Rising Cities.

"Turkey is home to highly sophisticated players who really value high-quality games,” said Kiran.

“Our core and mid-core games, such as Dark Orbit and Drakensang Online, already enjoy a very promising performance and remarkable ARPU values. The local team will work to expand our service for all partners and gamers.”

Bigpoint chief business officer Jeronimo Folgueira added: "A local presence in Istanbul is the key to a strong boost for our local market expertise and to achieving a lasting expansion in the whole region. We see Bigpoint as one of the main future providers of an excellent online gaming experience to Turkish and Arabic players longing for outstanding quality in the browser. Like the other parts of the MENA region, the Turkish gaming market is growing rapidly with online games leading that growth."
