The new Riddick game is real, and heading to iOS

The third Riddick game unearthed online last week is real… but is also likely not what you expected.

Eurogamer reports that Riddick: The Merc Files is due out on iOS on Friday September 20th. Its development team includes some who previously worked on Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay and Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena.

This ties in with Vin Diesel’s recent comments, when he stated: "My diehard gamers want Tigon to deliver the third chapter in the Riddick game. And we just of the past couple of months, just this year, reassembled that team from Starbreeze that brought Escape from Butcher Bay to create the third game."

The game is a stealth-based action title with a very different visual approach than previous Riddick titles, which you can see in the video below.

It’s being developed by both Vin Diesel’s own Tigon Studios and Swedish Studio Gaming Corps, which was founded by former Starbreeze devs Nicklas Dunham and Jens Larsson.
