GameStop halts PS4 pre-orders

GameStop has sold out of its PS4 launch stock, and is no longer taking pre-orders for the hardware in the US.

The console’s listing on the retailer’s website is now listed as ‘not available’, and a GameStop representative later confirmed the news to GameInformer.

Due to high demand for the system, GameStop is not currently taking additional store reservations for the PlayStation 4,” the rep said.

The development backs Sony’s warning that it expected demand to outpace supply for the PS4. The latest in the Playstation console line is due out later this year.
