Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition launches at US retail

Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition is out today at US retail, with the disc version arriving in additional territories throughout the rest of the month.

The physical offering arrives at stateside shops following a five-week delay from its original April 30th release date.

The title hits shelves in Japan, Australia and New Zealand tomorrow, while it arrives in Canada on June 25th. It will release in the UK, France and Spain on June 28th.

The XBLA version of Mojang’s massively successful indie game sold over 6m copies as of this past March, and the game has been touted as a system seller for Microsoft’s aging console.

The boxed version of Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition is currently available through Best Buy, GameStop, Walmart and other shops – retailing at $19.99.
