Dean 'Rocket' Hall lives up to his nickname atop the world's tallest peak

DayZ creator scales Everest

The creator of DayZ has reached the summit of Mt. Everest.

Dean ‘Rocket’ Hall is best known to the industry as the man behind a zombie mod for Arma2 that took the niche military simulator to the top of Steam’s sales charts, but he’s also a former soldier and now boasts an accomplishment rarer than an Olympic medal.

Only about 4,000 people have reached the top of the world’s tallest mountain, but on May 21st Hall became the 42nd New Zealander to stand on the 29,029 ft peak.

"Me on the roof of the world, Mt Everest, watching the sun rise at 4:33am, 21 May," said Hall when posting a picture on Twitter. "The forty second New Zealander ever".
