Survival horror to be first title from Shinji Mikami's studio Tango Gameworks

Resident Evil creator reveals The Evil Within

Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami has revealed his latest game, survival horror title The Evil Within.

To be published by Bethesda and developed by Mikami’s studio Tango Gameworks, the title is set to be released on Xbox 360, PS3, PC and next-gen consoles in 2014.

“We’re incredibly proud to announce The Evil Within,” said Mikami.

“My team and I are committed to creating an exciting new franchise, providing fans the perfect blend of horror and action.”

Famed for his work on the Resident Evil and Devil May Cry series, Mikami has also worked on titles such as Vanquish, Killer7, Viewtiful Joe and Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney.

His development studio Tango Gameworks, based in Japan, was founded in March 2010, and was later acquired by ZeniMax Media. The Evil Within will be the developer’s first release.
