THQ back catalogue to be sold separately

THQ’s back catalogue of IP will be sold off in a separate process, the publisher’s president has said.

Speaking to Game Informer, Jason Rubin said the sale of titles not sold during the initial auction would take place in the next few weeks.

It is not clear however exactly how the new process wil work, although another auction could be likely.

“There will be a separate process to sell off the back catalogue and IP,” he said.

“That process will take place in the coming weeks.”

A plethora of old IP owned by THQ still remains unsold following Wednesday’s auction of the publisher’s assets, including the likes of Red Faction and De Blob.

Homeworld could also be included in the sale, but Sega has yet to disclose whether or not it purchased the IP as part of its acquisition for the game’s developer Relic.

The new sale could also include Darksiders and new IP Crawler after developer Vigil Games failed to find a buyer.
