Family and friends greet Ivan Buchta and Martin Pezlar after four months in Greek prison

Video: Emotional return home for jailed Bohemia devs

After 128 days in jail two Bohemia Interactive developers finally returned home yesterday to an emotional reception from families and friends.

Ivan Buchta, 33, and Martin Pezlar, 28, were greeted by their loved ones as they stepped off the plane at a Czech Republic airport having finally been granted bail from a Greek prison in which they had been imprisoned since September.

Despite being released on bail and being allowed to return home however, the two developers are still facing trial on charges of spying and espionage over what Greece claims are illegally obtained photos of sensitive military installations on the island of Lemnos.

The duo could face up to 20 years imprisonment if convicted.

Buchta and Pezler however claim they were just on vacation and did not take any pictures to aid the development of ArmA III, which is based around the island of Lemnos.

When news originally broke that the two developers would be returning home after repeated attempts to be released, Pezlar’s mother Iveta Pezlarova told idnes.cz: “I cannot describe, we rather didn’t count on anything. It’s unbelievable”.
