Combat system to be 'completely redesigned' to offer users a more 'fluid and interactive system'

Jagex prepares for ‘biggest RuneScape update ever’

The upcoming update for fantasy MMO RuneScape will feature some of the biggest changes to core game features in the title’s history, developer Jagex has announced.

The latest update, called the Evolution of Combat, will introduce a redesigned combat system in an effort to offer a more “immersive experience” for users.

Lead designer Mark Ogilvie said the changes had been made to reflect customer feed back and to make combat more fluid and interactive.

“It’s impossible to downplay the significance of this update,” said Ogilvie.

“A rework of the combat system has been the most requested update from our community, and thousands of man hours have gone into developing a more fluid, interactive and tactical combat system. The Evolution of Combat update will fundamentally change the way people play and view RuneScape forever.”

Initial access to the update will be available in a limited closed beta starting on June 26th for current RuneScape members, with registrations opening on June 1st.
