Sci-fi action fans can now pick up Sony’s Starhawk for PS3.

The multiplayer-centric shooter is the spiritual successor to 2007 PlayStation hit Warhawk. Players take on the role of a hired gunman and battle for control of planets.

The new Build and Battle system allows them to turn the tables by constructing and upgrading turrets, bunkers and other buildings on the battlefield.

For even more intense action, consumers need look no further than Rising Star’s Akai Katana. This ‘Bullet Hell’ retro shooter is the latest Xbox 360 release from acclaimed Japanese developer Cave.

And let’s not forget that Blizzard’s long awaited RPG epic Diablo III is due for release this coming Tuesday (May 15th).
