Microsoft releases Kinect Star Wars iOS app

A new iOS app based on Kinect Star Wars has hit the App Store courtesy of Microsoft.

The app was already available on Windows Phone.

Rather than offer a game, it actually works as a social media aggregator, syncing with both Facebook and Twitter. Obviously it augments your streams with lots of promotional material for the Xbox 360 title with which it is associated.

We are literally putting the Force directly into people’s phones to help launch Kinect Star Wars,” Microsoft UK’s director of Xbox and entertainment Stephen McGill.

Fans will be able to carry a piece of the Star Wars universe in their pockets and, like the new game for Xbox 360, immerse themselves in the incredible world of one of the most enduring entertainment franchises like never before.”
