Indie studio seals deal after getting the nod from PA forums

Zeboyd to make next Penny Arcade game

Zeboyd, the indie studio behind Cthulu Saves the World and Breath of Death VII, is developing the next game in the Penny Arcade series.

Penny Arcade’s On the Rainslick Precipice of Darkness 3 was cancelled by Hothead studios two years ago.

Now, reports Joystiq, Zeboyd will be picking up where Hothead left off.

"What actually happened was that, on the Penny Arcade forums, people were complaining about how the series had gotten canceled," said Zeboyd’s Robert Boyd.

The thread creator recommended a new developer, namely Zeboyd.

Boyd replied that he’d love to make the game, but doubted that Penny Arcade would be inteterested.

"A few weeks after that I got an email from Robert Khoo at Penny Arcade saying, ‘hey, let’s talk.’"

The 8-bit game will be shown at PAX East in Boston this week, and is scheduled for launch this summer.
