Rumour: Wii U release date revealed

A supposed release date has surfaced for Nintendo’s Wii U hardware.

News site Wii U Daily claims to have obtained an e-mail stating the console’s launch in North America is set for November 18th of this year, with the Japanese release coming one week after.

The site states the e-mail was circulated among Japanese retailer Media Land’s employees.

Nintendo had previously confirmed the Wii U’s arrival in 2012, but no official specifics have been confirmed beyond a holiday release.

The date would seem to match up with the November 19th launch of the Wii back in 2006. Nintendo’s current console also arrived on a Sunday in North America, and was in fact one week ahead of the Japan release as well.

No official word yet from the gaming giant; and until there is, go ahead put a good-sized rumour label on this one.
