16GB Ouya console launches in North America

Ouya has released an upgraded version of its Android-powered console, now available to purchase in North America.

The updated hardware comes in a new matte black finish and boasts double the storage of the original 8GB Ouya – as well as a refined controller, improved WiFi, and the latest firmware updates out of the box.

The new 16GB model carries a price tag of $129.99, $30 more expensive than the Ouya’s initial offering – which is still available for $99.99.

The new Ouya is on sale now via Amazon as well as directly through Ouya’s website. No word on if and/or when this latest version is planned for release outside of the US and Canada.
