1m sales and counting for Paradox’s Cities: Skylines

One of this year’s breakout PC hits has passed a big sales milestone.

Cities: Skylines, which was released on Steam last month, has now sold over 1m copies across PC, Mac and Linux in a little over a month.

Paradox has also announced that users have created 33,000 mods for the Steam Workshop-supported title, while the game itself has averaged 21k online concurrent players since launch.

The 22.99 city building title sold a whopping 250k on its first day and passed 500k sales in its first week. 5,000 of these were created in the first few days of availability.

We continue to be amazed at just how players have embraced Cities: Skylines,” Paradox Interactive CEO Fredrik Wester said. The game is still selling at a steady pace, which is remarkable for a game that has been on sale for well over a month.

Once again, we want to thank everyone that has supported and continues to support this game.”
