1m votes for Golden Joystick Awards

With just over two weeks of voting still to go, Future has announced that one million votes have already been cast in the 28th Annual Golden Joystick Awards.

Categories this year include Action Game Of The Year sponsored by Nuts, ITN Game On Shooter Of The Year, Downloadable Game Of The Year sponsored by Green Man Gaming, Habbo.com Portable Game of the Year, MSN One to Watch and the coveted Ultimate Game of the Year.

Once again gamers are demonstrating their extraordinary passion and are making their opinions known,” group publisher for console and online and Golden Joystick organiser Simon Maxwell stated.

With voting coming from over 30 different nations, we are convinced that we are celebrating a truly global gaming event and more importantly we’re pleased to have been able to give so many gamers the chance to celebrate their favourite releases and see them get the recognition they deserve.”
