2009 Review – Q3

Another quarter bought with it another Sony leak as images from a Chinese manufacturer spoilt Sony’s PS23 Slim surprise. Mind you, bigger shocks were to come with news that Activision intended to sell Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 for an eye-watering 54.99.

That wasn’t the only news from the publisher, either – record-breaking financial results cemented its position atop of the pile, but the announcement of Tony Hawk Ride made a few question how long it would stay there.

Q3 also bought about the demise of Midway and a long-awaited price cut for PS3 – as well as yet another cut to Xbox 360. There was a price cut for Wii, too, though UK retail was less enthused.
