2K serves up Top Spin 4

With Andy Murray imploding on the courts of Flushing Meadows earlier this week, it has been left to publisher 2K Sports to bring a bit of cheer back to British tennis with confirmation of a 2011 release for Top Spin 4.

The game will boast a completely redesigned control scheme (which although not confirmed is bound to support Kinect and Move), the most detailed player models yet seen in the series complete with signature animations, enhanced TV animations and a lengthy roster of both current and historic stars of the sport.

2K adds that those pre-order the PS3 and Xbox version so the game will receive Andre Agassi an as exclusive playable character. Details on that offer will be revealed in due course.

Top Spin 4 is shaping up to be the most realistic and exhilarating tennis game in the Top Spin franchise,” 2K Sports president of product development Greg Thomas stated.

For this iteration, the development team is focused on delivering a bold new take on the sport of tennis by allowing gamers to experience first-hand an uncanny level of realism in the player and stadium models, authentic audio captured directly from real tennis matches, and all-new innovative controls to dominate the competition.”

The game is due out on Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii next year. Probably just in time for Wimbledon.
