4mm has faith in music genre

Industry veteran Geoff Heath has told MCV that he believes 4mm’s upcoming addition to the music genre, Def Jam Rapstar, can prove that there’s life left yet in the sector.

Heath, who is currently acting as an advisor to emerging publisher 4mm – which set up its first UK office last month – says that while rock-based games are suffering a dip in popularity, hip-hop is a whole other story.

Some say the music genre is in decline, but that seems to be more in the ‘rock’ or ‘alternative’ genres,” he stated. But there’s yet to be a hip hop game, so how can there be a decline in a genre that doesn’t exist?”
