A new Ninja Gaiden project is in the works – but it’s not a game

A new entry in Koei Tecmo’s Ninja Gaiden franchise is coming up, but fans hoping for a new game may be disappointed.

Composer Keiji Yamagishi announced earlier this week on Twitter that he was working on a new project related to Ninja Gaiden.”

I’ll be able to share more news in July,” he added.

The tweet generated a lot of enthusiasm and speculations, until Yamagishi clarified today that it was actually not a new title in the franchise.

I apologize for any confusion caused by this tweet. This new project does not relate to a new video game,” he said (see below).

The latest instalment in Koei Tecmo’s series was Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge, which hit shelves in 2013 as a Wii U launch title before coming to other platforms later that year.
