Amazing Spider-Man 2 swinging onto consoles next spring

Marvel has confirmed plans for a standalone Spider-Man game to accompany the release of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 at cinemas next spring.

Polygon reports that despite sharing the same name, the game will offer a separate narrative taking place in an open-world Manhattan featuring characters from both the film and the classic comics.

New this time will be a ‘Hero or Menace’ system that rewards good deeds but punishes players if they fail to clamp down on crime.

Uers will also get to play as Peter Parker in missions themed around his work as an investigative reporter.

The Beenox developed title will be released on PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U, PC and 3DS.
