Amazon rebrands LoveFilm, ups Prime subscription price

The cost of Amazon Prime membership is getting a significant increase.

Having previously warned that such a move was in the offing, cost of Prime membership will on February 26th increase from 49 to 79.

However, customers are going to be getting a big extra for the money – Prime Instant Video membership, which is the new name for streaming video service LoveFilm.

Current LoveFilm subscribers won’t see any changes to their fees, although the rebrand will be reflected within their apps. Furthermore, current Prime subscribers will get Prime Instant Video membership added at no extra cost.

For everyone else, Prime membership including instant video access is available for 49 until next Wednesday when the new pricing will come into effect.
