Analyst predicts sales struggle for Prototype 2

Ahead of its release next week, analyst firm Cowen and Company has predicted that Activision’s Prototype 2 will struggle at retail.

Gamasutra reports that that game is likely to see a soft performance" upon release, citing that fact that it has failed to break into Amazon’s Top 100 on either Xbox 360 or PS3.

"We had been modelling the title to slightly exceed the 900,000 U.S. units the original title sold through during the year after its June 2009 launch," the company’s Doug Creutz wrote.

"We now believePrototype 2could struggle to reach 500,000 first-year US units."
