Apple postpones Japanese iPad 2 launch

On the back of numerous video game delays in the earthquake-struck Japan, Apple has announced that the iPad will not launch in the territory as planned on March 25th.

In fact, the firm now says that the launch has been "delayed indefinitely".

"We are delaying the launch of the iPad 2 in Japan while the country and our teams focus on recovering from the recent disaster," spokesperson Natalie Kerris told the BBC.

Like a number of key companies, Apple has also made strides to try and help the aid efforts in the country. Donations to the American Red Cross can be made via iTunes, with 100 per cent of proceeds going to the charity.

iPad will still be launching in a number of other territories – including the UK – on March 25th.
