Argos to launch TV channel

Catalogue retailer Argos will launch a TV shopping channel this summer.

It marks the retailer’s attempts to grow its multi-channel strategy following a difficult period for the firm. Parent company Home Retail Group issued a profit warning yesterday.

The channel will be available over Sky initially, and the production will be handled in-house at Argos.

The launch of our new TV channel will see us really delivering on our commitment to offer our customers a whole range of convenient ways to shop with Argos," said managing director Sara Weller.

Our ability to connect between channels means that the content we will be producing for Argos TV will also have wider potential applications online and in store, adding further to customer choice, value and convenience.”
