Ashes Cricket 2009 coming August

Codemasters has announced that Ashes Cricket 2009 will be released on Friday August 7th.

The game is set to hit Wii, Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, and is the official tie-in to the nPower-sponsored cricket series that is being played right now.

As well as a full Ashes mode, featuring the official players, kits and arenas, the game boasts normal test matches, one day internationals, 20/20 games and a full multiplayer mode.

The Wii edition also features full control with the Wii Remote, allowing gamers to bat and bowl using Nintendo’s controller.

Developer Transmission Games is working on the Xbox 360, PC and PS3 editions, while the Wii game is being created by Gusto Games.

England batsman Kevin Pietersen adorns the games cover in the UK and Shane Warne and Sir Ian Botham both supply voices for the game.
